How do I get to the starting point ?

You have several options to reach the start point of your Baja adventure. You can drive your car—just don't forget to get Mexican insurance. We suggest checking out Ride Baja at www.ridebaja.com for more details. Some rides meet at the border crossings, and there are shuttles and other local ground transportation available. You can also fly into San Diego International Airport or Tijuana International Airport; for Americans, San Diego is usually the cheaper option. Choose the method that best suits your needs and get ready for an unforgettable experience!

Is Baja safe ?

Baja is a safe and welcoming destination, as long as you use common sense and good judgment. Avoid risky behavior such as stumbling down the street drunk or seeking out illegal activities. By staying aware of your surroundings and respecting local customs and laws, you'll find that Baja offers a friendly and enjoyable environment for all adventurers. Embrace the spirit of Baja, and you'll have a safe and unforgettable experience.

What do I need to cross in to, and out of Baja ?

To cross into Baja, you'll need a valid passport. Depending on your nationality, you might also need a tourist visa or an FMM (Forma Migratoria Múltiple), which can be obtained online or at the border. When returning to your home country, you'll need your passport again and any required documentation for re-entry. It's also a good idea to have your vehicle registration and insurance papers handy if you're driving. Be sure to check the latest travel advisories and requirements before your trip to ensure a smooth crossing both into and out of Baja.

Do not bring any of these items, because you will end up in a Mexican jail if you do.

Gear up for your dirt bike adventure with excitement and enthusiasm, but make sure to leave behind anything that could turn your epic ride into a lengthy stay in a Mexican jail! This means no drugs, guns, bombs, even a single bullet, or those tempting cannabis gummies. Keep your luggage light and your adventure legal for a thrilling and trouble-free journey.

Tips and Gratuties, what should I tip ?

When it comes to tipping in Baja, a general guideline is to tip locals around 10%. For your guides, who work hard to ensure you have an amazing experience, tipping generously is greatly appreciated. A local secret to enhance your experience: bring a couple of packs of Marlboro Red cigarettes. You'd be amazed at the doors they can open and the goodwill they can generate!

Things that go a long ways as a Gringo in Baja ?

As a Gringo in Baja, a few thoughtful gestures can go a long way in building goodwill. Learning a few basic Spanish phrases shows respect and effort, which locals appreciate. Tipping generously for good service is always welcomed, and carrying small gifts like packs of Marlboro Red cigarettes can open doors and foster friendly interactions. Being respectful, open-minded, and embracing the local culture will ensure you have a positive and memorable experience in Baja.

This isn’t America - Don’t be an Asshole.

Remember, this isn’t America—so don’t be an asshole. When in Baja, respect the local customs, traditions, and people. Acting entitled or disrespectful won't get you far and can tarnish the reputation of all visitors. Embrace the cultural differences, be polite, and show appreciation for the hospitality you receive. By being considerate and open-minded, you'll not only enjoy a richer experience but also foster positive relations with the locals.
